YG-1 TD704 is a TiN-coated HSS-E UNC cold forming tap with oil grooves. Designed for unified coarse internal threads, it forms threads in suitably ductile soft materials. YG-1 specifies workpieces with at least 8–10% elongation for this forming application. Oil grooves support cold forming operations requiring pre-drilled holes larger than normal tapping holes.
The series uses a 60° thread form and C 6HX tolerance class. Available UNC sizes extend from #5-40 through 3/4-10, covering common coarse-thread requirements. DIN 371 applies from #4 through 3/8, while DIN 376 covers 7/16 through 3/4. Its TiN coating distinguishes the series for UNC cold forming applications.
