YG-1 TC234 is an HSS-E UNF gun point tap with a thick web for higher-speed through-hole threading. It produces Unified Fine threads in through holes for general-purpose machining applications. The series follows DIN 371 from #4 to 3/8, then DIN 374 for larger sizes. Bright-finish variants cover #4–48 UNF through 7/8–14 UNF thread sizes for practical shop use.
Thick web construction supports higher cutting speeds than other taps in suitable through-hole work. Recommended materials include steels, stainless steel, cast irons, aluminium alloys, copper alloys and non-metallic materials. Match the required UNF size with the specified tapping drill diameter before machining.
