YG-1 TY283 is a TiAlN-coated HSS-E metric spiral-point machine tap for hardened-steel through holes. It cuts ISO metric coarse threads with a 60° thread profile. The B chamfer lead and spiral point direct chips forward through the workpiece. Thick-web construction supports higher cutting speeds than other taps in through-hole applications. TiAlN coating complements the HSS-E construction for demanding hardened-steel threading operations. Each tap has a C 6H tolerance class for standard metric coarse thread production. The series covers M2 × 0.4 to M24 × 3 metric coarse sizes. DIN 371 forms cover M2 to M10, while DIN 376 covers M11 to M24.
