YG-1 TY312 is a TiAlN-coated HSS-E metric spiral flute machine tap for blind-hole steel threading. Special flute geometry promotes excellent chip evacuation when producing metric coarse threads in blind holes. This machine tap series suits tempered steels or similar work materials in holes up to 2.5×D. Selected supplied sizes cover M3 × 0.5 through M30 × 3.5 metric coarse threads. DIN 371 applies from M2 to M10, while DIN 376 applies from M11 to M30. The range includes three-flute smaller taps and four-flute sizes from M20, according to listed dimensions. Its TiAlN coating identifies this TY312 variant family within YG-1’s steel tapping range.
